Yale West Campus Barn

Project Details

Timber Frame

Completed 2015

Orange, Connecticut

We built the Yale West Campus Barn in 2015, and it has aged beautifully. The hammer beam style frame and doors and passage windows allow for the barn to be completely opened up, ready for events and gatherings. It is tucked away on Yale's West Campus, separate from the hustle and bustle of everyday college life. It serves multiple functions, as a meeting space, a place for the community to get together and cook in the outdoor kitchen, a facility to clean and process produce from the garden, or simply a getaway for students, teachers and campus staff to enjoy some peace. We had a blast building this barn and loved having the opportunity to return and see how it's aged so finely.
